The UNESCO town of a thousand windows is a 90-minute run via Rrogozhina. Leave early, walk the Mangalem quarter before the heat, and be back in Durrës for a seafood dinner.

- The beach strip in summer is slow. The seafront road from the port to Golem crawls on July and August evenings. Do your driving in the morning and swim in the afternoon, not the reverse.
- Parking: paid street parking operates in the centre and near the amphitheatre; hotels on the strip almost all have their own spaces — confirm when booking.
